Through an academically rigorous programme, students in Grades 6 – 8 learn to master skills that will serve them in high school and beyond. Our internationally focused programme prepares them to succeed in wherever their home country may be.
Our students are exposed to a curriculum which interweaves history, geography, literature, art, music and drama, with a focus on active learning and collaboration. Centre Stage Singapore teaches our Dramatic Arts curriculum, which offers our students the opportunity to learn from professional actors. Literacy and Numeracy are taught as stand-alone subjects, following internationally recognised programmes of learning.
SMMIS’s research based science programme: FOSS, was developed at the University of California, Berkeley, with the support of the United States Science Foundation teaches science as an active enterprise that engages the student’s mind in the pursuit of scientific knowledge and exploration. The programme is inquiry based, emphasising investigation and analysis.
The Middle School Curriculum encourages students to appreciate the fine arts; field trips to expose them to philharmonic concerts, theatre and museums, as well as social action and community work.
At SMMIS students are able to pursue two modern languages, and with state of the art facilities we have very strong sporting teams.
Our teachers are internationally trained and experts in their fields.
